Výlet do Anglie začínáme BATH.
Náš výlet sice začal trochu v Bristolu, ale protože jsme první den, kdy jsme přiletěly, stihly navštívit jen Clifton Suspension Bridge, spojím to s posledním článkem.
Do Anglie jsme přiletěly v pátek večer kolem páté, a pak jsme přejely do Bath někdy mezi osmou a devátou. Bath nám posloužilo jako základna.
Další den, tedy sobotu, jsme měly v plánu prozkoumat právě Bath. Naše ubytování bylo asi patnáct minut chůze od centra a přibližně stejně daleko od Alexandra Parku, kde je krásná vyhlídka na celé město – The Bath Lookout. Naše kroky pak vedly "zadem" k Prior Parku. I když jsme tam nečekaně musely zaplatit vstup, park rozhodně stál za to. Hlavní atrakcí byl Palladian Bridge, u kterého jsme si daly kávu s výhledem na most a užívaly si tu atmosféru, vibe a pocit, že máme volno a jsme právě tam, kde máme být.
Po ranním klidu na venkově začal ruch města – vydaly jsme se do centra, kde první větší zastávkou byly Římské lázně. Přes vstupné 32 liber na osobu jsme rozhodně nechtěly návštěvu vynechat, protože co by to bylo za návštěvu Bath bez nich? Lázně nás nadchly svou rozlehlostí a tím, jak propracované to celé bylo – je až neuvěřitelné, co lidé dokázali už v té době. Návštěvu rozhodně doporučuji.
Po lázních jsme prošly přes Bath Abbey do Parade Gardens, odkud je nádherný výhled na most Pulteney, který mi hodně připomínal Ponte Vecchio ve Florencii. Pokračovaly jsme přes město až k The Circus a pak k Royal Crescentu, tedy místním rezidenčním sídlům, jak už sám název napovídá, uspořádaným do kruhu, resp. půlkruhu.
Zvažovaly jsme ještě výlet k Somerset Palace, ale protože mamce už bolela noha, vydaly jsme se zpátky dolů přes dům Jane Austen do zahrad, kde jsme si s vínem, které jsme koupily cestou, pohodlně sedly a jen tak si užívaly atmosféru města.
Na večeři jsme zvolily těstoviny a musím říct, že jsem úplně zapomněla (od dob, co jsem žila v Anglii), jak je tam draho, obzvlášť co se týče alkoholu, haha.
Takový byl náš den v Bath. Příští den pokračujeme v poznávání vesniček Cotswolds, takže je na co se těšit.

After this peaceful start in the countryside, the city hustle awaited us – we headed into the center where the first major stop was the Roman Baths. Despite the 32-pound entrance fee per person, we simply had to go because a visit to Bath without the Roman Baths would not be the same. The baths surprised and absolutely delighted us with their vastness and the level of sophistication they had achieved back then. I highly recommend visiting. After the baths, we passed Bath Abbey and reached the Parade Gardens, which offer a lovely view of Pulteney Bridge, a structure that reminded me a lot of the Ponte Vecchio in Florence.
We continued across the city to The Circus and then to Royal Crescent, the local residential area arranged, as the names suggest, in a circle and a semicircle.

For dinner, we ended up choosing pasta, and I have to say I completely forgot (since the last time I lived in England) how expensive the country is, especially when it comes to alcohol, haha.
That was our day in Bath, and the next day we’re continuing our tour through the villages of the Cotswolds – there’s lots to look forward to.
